To undo the protective spell, you must speak to Sorcerer Guillermo. He is part of the investigation team sent to Makot Village, and should be somewhere on the village's upper level.

A friend of mine named Johnson has recently joined up with an investigation team that was sent to the village of the Makot Kobolds. One of the members of that team is the sorcerer Guillermo.
